Default Welding ?

I'm a tig pipe welder, I have a sportster 48 with a very short 2 into 1 pipe ovalized at the tip. Jonny laws been giving me the eye. It has baffles but is still pretty loud. Was wondering if anyone in here has welded on a newer model hd and did you have to undo grounds battery and other ECM safety connects? I am going to just weld a piece of expanded metal to the exit side of the baffles for a little more restriction. This will also eliminate a what little pop there is as well. And yes I know about the washer technique. I will be keeping the ground within 3" of the actual arc itself. And all electronics will be at least 1,1/2 feet away so current should only be traveling from point A to B.
