Headlight upgrade
Grew weary of the feeble lighting on my '97 and decided to do something about it. Installed a H-D dual halogen lamp this evening (part # 67700032) and the results were dramatic. Light is far reaching and the beams are so broad I no longer even switch the spots on...also no weird refractions with either beam.
This is hands down the best part I have ever purchased for a bike. Those sneaky deer don't stand a chance now hehe.

I have to mention. Go on the service manual and do a complete alignment of the beam. You will be surprised at how much more light you will get once you do this. I have the same projector on my 2012 SG and it is great.
Basically to align the headlamp take the bike and do the following:
Park in front of a wall. Measure 25feet from the wall to the front axle.
Draw a vertical line on the wall approximately 24 inches off the gnd to about 40inches tall. (masking tape works great for this)
Then sit on bike and upright it
Have a helper measure from the ground to the HIGH BEAM BULB(located at the bottom) and place a horizontal tape on the wall at that height make a cross with other tape.
with you sitting on bike turn the high beam on and shine towards the cross. Adjust beam of light to be perfectly centered with the cross. You will see a HOT SPOT of light and that is what needs to be in perfect alignment.
I guarantee you will be pleased with the results once you ride at dark for the first time.
