Spark plugs
I run ANBS, and the SE touring slip-ons, tuned with the SEST, by myself using the stock plugs and all was fine, didn't think any more about it. This thread got me thinking so I did some data runs with the NGk iridium plugs in the bike now. The data runs showed that the knock sensors were active in some areas and showing a reading of 8. Now anything above 3 should be addressed by changing the tune. I put the stock plugs back in just to check what was happening. Another data run showed all was well again. NGKs went back in and another data run showed excess knock activity again. I have now gone back to stock plugs as it would appear they do have an effect on my bikes tune. Stupid thing is that although the system seems able to cope, the timeing is retarded when knock sensors are active removing as much as 8 degs of timeing.
The bike ran good on the NGK's but I suspect that this is more down to the systems ability to cope with the NGKs effect on the system. I dont notice any difference with the stock plugs so I will be sticking with them from now on.

If you think how long it takes a piece of heat to go down that thin wire to a cooler place I'm not suprised.
Way, way back I seem to remember a class on heat transfer, something called "K" factor.
