Default chain tensioner

Since I found out about the issue of the shoes wearing out I have been concerned. Talking to a buddy of mine he thinks my 2012 heritage 103 has already been upgraded with the hydraulic tensioner from the factory. Anybody know if this is true or do I just need to open it up and find out?
Thanks

^^Yep. When I opened my 2012 up for cams at 18,000 I had literally NO wear on my tensioner shoes at all. You have no worry there.

Some of the early spring-loaded tensioner chains had burrs/edges on them from the manufacturing process(that the tumbler should have removed)thus the reason for those needing replacement, but your late model system seems to hang in there quite well.
No worries.

I have the engine covers off my 2008 Softail with 63K miles and it has the hydraulic tensioners from the factory and they still look pretty good for the amount of miles on em.

i just changed the header pipe on my 12 ultra and decided to inspect the oil fed tensioner, i have 23,500 miles and no wear whatsoever, i found no debris in the cam chest area, so i am "assuming" the tensioner for the chain between the cams is okay as well.
