Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
hey doc
have quit a selection of those in my box also made some especially for the Cadillac northstar engine head bolts prone to strip out of block if not cleaned. than if that happens get the timeserts out.
Oh God dont bring up northstars please target lol!
I built the motors in a few sand cars using them from mild to wild. yikes what a repetitious tedious job fixing all those head bolt holes even on a stand. We put studs in after timeserts they were ok then or well as ok as they can be anyway lol.
Id hate to be a line mechanic working on v8 caddys I shudder to think about it ooh ahh.

20 years working for Gm dealership the last 10 were flat rate and u you had to lose time on them to do them correctly or it would cost you severely in the end. I did quit a few of them. don't miss it one bit.
Me neither brother me neither its just bad memory's for us now and character building experiences. Absolutely anything beats going backwards in a job that only line mechanics understand.
