I was thinking about putting a better cam in my 2012 FXDC.
Its a Stock 96 with SE 255 cams in it now.
What will be the best cam without having to do head work?
I want better bottom end and better mid range.
Thanks
Ron
An Andrews 48H Woods TW-222 and S&S 509 would be a little bit of an upgrade from the SE 255 but not sure if it would be worth it the swap. The S&S 510 has a decent LSA but is more of a midrange cam but with the right pipes will perform nicely@2800-5000. Then there's the woods TW-5G, a cam not many mention that is good for stockers. Ask your local indy..
I'm no 255 fan but with without a compression bump no cam will make enough difference to be worth a swap in a 96. I would think about a 103/107 and cam swap.
Old Hippie is right.
The existing 255 is about as good as you'll see, as the 48's, 222's are all very near the power you already have.
The dollar spent won't justify the small, if any, gain.
We have a 107"/EZ Start cam kit for under 1K, that'll push your power up substancially.

Thanks for all the info.
I have time to think of how far I want to go.
Winter sorry for the bad word is not to far away from here.
So if I go for the gusto it will be then.
