hello guys , I have a question for you .
I have a 1993 1200 sportster I purchased as a project . installed new .010 over KB pistons and heads were reworked at machine shop . the engine went together ok and started and ran strong . I put about 100 miles on it when noticed some smoke coming from exhaust pipe front cyl . removed head and found exhaust port wet with oil and oil puddling up on top of piston . I had the head rechecked from machine shop and they said it checked out ok ? the cyl. looks good (no visible scores on cyl. walls ) could that much oil be sucked up by piston rings ? or am I missing something else . just want to make sure before I put this back together .
thank you
ok thank you for replies but I did not mention during initial tear down I found broken exhaust valve on rear cylinder . I think I should check rods for damage . there was a lot of scores in cylinder walls with only 100 miles on engine
