Yeah, I would want to find out what was going on. I know it's a PITA but trying the SE pump to check the light/pressure would be one way to determine if the pump is the problem, assuming O-rings are OK. Then you would have the basis for calling Daytona and asking for another pump.

I installed NEW orings(all three) when i did cam install.

The new pump to worn/scored plate seal could be your issue. If there was scoring enough to warrant replacement i would think you should replace both.

IOW even though the old pump was scored they were mated and likely formed a much better seal than you have now.

I might tear it apart this weekend. I was going to wait until the 21st when my insurance is done for the year, but the weather is supposed to suck and I don't have anything to do this weekend anyway.

The o rings were perfect, I re installed the SE pump and everything is fine again.
I'll return the Daytona pump and just leave the SE pump in there.

if it actually has no pressure (not a sensor problem),ide be looking into it.if the problem wasn't there before the pump install, ide be looking there first (check the cam plate O rings)

Quick check: Pull the oil pressure sensor and see how long before it blows oil out of the hole after it's sat for awhile.

Try to find out what the issue was with the pump. First bad report on that pump.

It must be a poor seal between the pump halves or / and the pump and camplate.
The oil must leak out of the pump when sitting.
When the bike was started after sitting for a couple days, the oil light would take 7-8 seconds to go out, it would continue to flash for a few seconds.
It would seem that air was leaking in through the gaps and would take a few seconds to purge.
The old SE pump turns the oil light out almost instantly with none of the flashingI thought, maybe the pump bolts were too long and were bottoming out, preventing a tight union. that was not the case.
