Default Need Help IDing Lifters

I have a set of lifters that I believe are a set of Harley B lifters Part 18538-99B

However, they don't have a part number on them anywhere. I intend to use them to replace the worn out C lifters in my 2011 Road King or use them in my 02 Dyna when I replace the tensioners. The 02 uses 18538-99A and it's my understanding that was Delphi's first crack at Harley lifters. The lifters pictured are reported to have 10K miles on them. So my questions are:

Do I have a set of B lifters pictured?

If so, are they superior to a set of A lifters with 11K miles on them?

Thanks for any help in the matter.

IMHO, that last pic of the roller doesnt look the greatest. I wouldn't reuse them...you can get good quality S&S lifters for under $150. One lifter failure can take out the entire motor. Is it worth it?

Answer here. Looks like a B lifter square clip.

Look like "B" or OEM GM lifters but the roller in the last photo appears to be pitted and, if so, should be replaced. Maybe post a better picture of all four rollers.

Thanks guys. Here are a couple more photos but I think I know the answer. The pitting is light but it's there.

I'm headed to Florida on the 10th or 11th. I'm getting a lifter noise on cold start up that seems to take longer than it used to. The bike is a 2011 Road King that has north of 70k miles on it. I was thinking I'd just pull the rocker covers, box, and push rods and replace the lifters to just to be safe. I'm going to run the bike to 100k before installing a 103 on it (currently a 96).

I may have to bite the bullet and buy some others PDQ and install them.

If you want to get to 100k, the only choice is to replace.....

I agree. I'm going to get a new set of lifters and push rods (non-adjustable) and install them. It should be a pretty straight forward job. I'm not going to take the exhaust or cam cover off.

And maybe the tank.

A cheap upgrade you might consider while you have the rocker covers off and the support loose would be to upgrade the head breathers to the later stamped breathers introduced in the 2011 model year. PN 26500002; about $7.00 each. Just "Say No" to OEM lifters.

Thank you sir. I ordered the Comp Cam 850-1 lifters and gaskets today. My bike is a 2011 Road King so I may have the stamped breathers already. I may order them anyway in case I don't. For as long as this thing has been making noise I'm half thinking about getting new pushrods as well.

What do you think?

My bad, I saw '02 Dyna in the OP and missed that your bike was an '11 model; yup, already have the stamped breathers.

If you are going to get new pushrods and the motor has been making noise, why not try a set of adjustables? The SE 18404-08 set is good hardware or the S&S adjustables. If the valve train is noisy, you can apply more lifter preload and perhaps quiet things down.

You might also consider a set of Rocker Lockers as part of the project. In the past there have been various approaches to this problem but the Rocker Lockers are a quick and fast solution if the rocker shaft happens to be the source of the noise.
