Just joined the forum. I have a 2006 Electra glide standard(ex police)88cu
Currently only upgrade is vance and hines monster ovals. I would like to do the following: bike is fuel injected
Vance and Hines Dresser Duals head pipes
Arlen ness Big Sucker II
Screaming eagle camchest upgrade kit
Cams: Andrews 37N or 55N or S&S 585
S&S adjustable push rod kit
98 big bore kit- S&S
I would also like to do cylinder heads.
would like to do all in one shot.
Looking for advice on cams, heads and compression.
Ride solo 95 percent, no tour pack, Looking for low to midrange power
Assuming a higher lift will give more hp and torque?
Also, forgot a tuner, thinking:
PC V, Powervision or thundermax?
Higher lift isn't a guarantee of more HP or torque. The later heads with the beehive springs can handle more lift so cams that weren't a bolt in on the early heads will bolt in on the later ones.
As for the tuner I would check with the guy that's going to do the tuning to see what he likes/prefers.
The Andrews 55 won't give you the bottom end your looking for. The 37 will and if you like that grind then you should take a real good look at the woods w6 @ 10:1. long broad torque curve that comes on early and carries all the way out....
I checked with two local shops before coming on here. One said to just add Air breather, Andrews 37 cams, screaming eagle tensioner upgrade and a SERT tuner- he says that's all the power I would need.
Other said start with the tensioner upgrade, air breather, Andrews 37 cams and power commander v. Dyno tune. Ride for a season.
If I wanted to go bigger, he would go 95" big bore kit, upgrade clutch springs, new heads, same cams add anther Dyno. Cost of upgrade to big bore is 2800.CDN.
I don't want to spend money twice! Rather do it once, the right way. Just trying to navigate what the best build is.
One of things you are likely to discover pdq is that having enjoyed a decent boost in performance, you will probably find that even more will be just great! Been there.....
A possible outcome is that you spend money on an upgrade, then find you are spending even more on a second bigger upgrade. So consider how long you reckon on keeping your bike and if that is likely to be a long time then think in terms of a BIG upgrade, rather than a small one.
We have several HDF sponsors who are specialist engine builders, who can work wonders......

Bore your OE cylinders to 98"
Our Stage II Heads
Andrews 57 at 10.0 cr.
S&S lifters/pushrods
oil pressure shim
No real need to change that pump or plate, but if the shoes are worn, just install a set of Cyco shoes, and save.
Scott
Hey Scott, what can I expect as far as torque/horsepower from that setup?
Would the Vance and hines dresser duals be a good choice?
Should I go powervision or power commander?
What will your stage two heads cost me?
