Probably speaking of diminishing returns...

Imo the bike is beautiful with the bags and the exhaust!

I would leave anymore Hot Rodding to your "one-day Street Glide" instead of throwing $$$ at a B motor...

Thanks baloot. I had to register on that forum and am waiting for approval before I can follow your link.

All in all very disappointing replies. Even if I changed the exhaust and set the bags aside as I mentioned above is a possibility, posters like ntraindavefl still say to leave it alone but without explanation. strange

Thanks for the compliment FlaHeatWave

I'm starting to think that maybe just cams to better suit the 106 that I have already installed may be the way to go.
I have to admit though that i'm a bit bummed.

Now you are thinking straight but I would add head work to the package. If you like the pipes (I do agree the bike is a looker with the bags) keep them. Replace the EPA cam with a real cam and have heads set up to match. You have a good fuel management system, get the motor dyno tuned and it will run better than it is running now but not as good as it could run with different exhaust.

Talk to a competent head porter; cam selection is the key with those pipes.

It's a beautiful bike. I'd have a super hard time changing anything on it. If I had to mess with the engine I'd do , TTS-100 cams and get it tuned. It's too pretty to mess with.

Thanks for the compliments.
Ok so if I replaced the cams, pushrods and lifters, you think head work would also help? Is getting my stock heads ported any different than getting something like the S&S 79cc super stock heads or similar? And if it is different what's the difference?

I really can't add anything that the more experienced people haven't already said so I'll just say that you really have an awesome looking bike. Normally I don't care for the style, but it all just works.

On the pushrods, no offense to Fuel Moto and their stellar reputation (which is well deserved), but I'd go for a different adjustable. I use the S&S Quickees. The FM ones don't have a quality problem but they're not the easiest adjustable to work with...

Hey djl can you be a bit more specific regarding what you mean when you say head work that suits the cam? How does that differ from getting a ready to go head replacement like the one in my original post? Sorry but we're getting into an area where i'm not very knowledgeable.

If you're leaving that exhaust on it, leave it alone.

With exhaust like that, if you want a little oomph throw in a 203 or a cam with an early closing exhaust to help reduce reversion issues.

Spending all that money on the intake side and failing to balance the exhaust side is a waste.

A smaller well balanced engine beats an overbuilt poorly balanced system every time.

Also, if I were the shops that spent all the time with you then saw you asking the inter web, I'd be a little less apt to help in the future. Just my .02
