I have a question for all the builders. I'm starting to gather parts for a future build. I want to have a 124 build as a strong touring motor for my street glide I have some time so just gathering parts and ideas. My question is..
What heads are best to start with for a 124? I plan to have them ported to match the builders design but what's the best place to start, stock 103, 110, mva heads or other?
X3.
The 110" heads out-shine the S&S Super-Stock castings, both re-worked.
The Super-Stock heads will put out more torque, sooner, but will not have the hp whip.

The early ones had r/exhaust guide migration.
BTW, S&S offers their B2 heads for the OEM HD bolt pattern.....those accept a 70mm S&S Throttle Hog.
THOSE move some air!

I'm not really looking for race application, more of a torque monster touring motor that lasts. If I get too big on ports don't I loose port velocity and low end torque?
The 110 heads had a problem with the guides coming loose.when we (and i would hope other porters) do them.guides are replaced so no more problem there.we also use beehive springs as (imo) the OEM springs have too much seat pressure and accelerate valve train & lifter wear
