Default Tc88: Why doesn't my hi flow oil filter feature a large O-ring like stock
I bought a drag specialities "Daytona" hi flow oil pump , before I install it I'm a little perplexed that it doesn't have an O-ring like the original against the plate?! Pictured

It doesn't need an o ring because the gerotors aren't against the cam plate creating pressure between the two (they're enclosed).

Ah very good makes sense thanks! Does this mean scoring on my cam plate matters less than with a stock pump

Scoring on your cam plate means things were not aligned properly.

Some scoring is normal and to be expected when metal to metal contact is made between moving parts. Big difference between scoring and grooves.......
