170/170 at least confirms cams are timed properly. Bypassing the start circuit should leave the ACRs closed which should show +/- 200psi with the 255 cams in a stock motor. Did you confirm that the throttle plate was wide open? Was the test done with a fully charged battery? Both are important for an accurate compression reading. I don't believe you have accurate compression test data yet. You must have a fully charged battery and the throttle plate must be wide open. Pull another test but forget the bypass method. Remove the system relay from fuse block to disable ACR. I think system relay is #11 in fuse block. Perform two tests one with relay removed and another with relay in place. This will confirm whether or not the ACRs are working and will provide accurate data assuming that the battery is fully charged and throttle plate is wide open.
Instead of using jumpers and possibly cause damage to ecm. U have a start button use it. Unplug acrs under the tank get reading plugged in And unplugged. As I said earlier acrs engage with the starter button and release when u let go of the starter button Get anew battery. Check voltage on battery while it's running should be 14.8 volts 170 is probably with acrs open. Stock bike is about 190. 255 usuallysbout 200-205 There is probably nothing wrong with cams. Sounds like your battery is shot 255 Can be pain to tune. Predetination is oneofthe hardest things to resolve with 255.
Throttle plate open, using start button
Plugged in
Front 100
Rear 125 - 135
The plugged in readings are off, should be close like the unplugged readings but there are other operator actions that would produce those results. You would have to perform repeated tests to confirm the readings. I would say you have confirmed that cams are timed properly and compression releases are operating.
If I were you, I would get a good flash tuner like Power Vision or TTS Mastertune or Direct Link; whatever your local tuner likes to use and get a proper tune. Should be good to go after that.
