Default Deciding on Cams

I want bolt on, not pulling the heads, with the broadest torque range for my 2016 Ultra Classic. Seems that it comes down to the Woods 555 or Andrews 57h. Nearly an $80 price difference - not that that matters for the right one. I don't look to future engine upgrades to decide potential should I do head work later. Just want it right from the start! Both seem about the same with the 57 getting the upper hand perhaps. I'm already stage I. Thanks for the input!

The 57 is a good all around cam, perhaps a little soft at the lowest reaches of the range.

My Dyno Says It's Fine at the lowest reach... just add headwork!

57h is a good choice

if you dont go over 4500rpm I would look at a more low end cam from what you describe

For plug and play application, neither, as both intake closing numbers dictate that they need more compression to be fully effective.
Andrews 48 is your man.

Thanks Scott,
Do you believe that without making any other modification that the 48 will be an improvement over the stock cams that is noticeable, or more likely a mechanical exercise? More extensive work, which I'd like to do, just isn't in the cards presently, but increasing torque, the fun factor, and maintaining reliability is if it makes sense. I appreciate your input!

I agree on the 48`s,57`s need more than stock compression & will be flat at lower & mid range RPM`s

The 48, once tuned, will be a HUGE increase in useable torque, and a very good gain in hp also.
Last one we installed/tuned here with V&H Power Duals and a good air filter went at/near 92 hp and at/near 113 ft/lbs.

Just don't underestimate the importance of the words "once tuned" in Scott's response. You also asked in post #7 about a noticeable improvement without any other modifications. I'm guessing you mean other than a better A/C and exhaust. Gotta get the motor breathing better.
