i say show me the specs!! many resellers have an oil cheaply blended to a price point + sell for big profits. they do not show any specs to compare, HD as well as Polaris sell inferior oils @ high prices!!
I do use the DS oil in my bikes. I live in MINNESOTA and it gets plenty hot this time of year. The HARLEY manual states that you should go to specific weights of oil compared to the temperature. Right now I have changed the oil and put in straight 50 weight DS oil. I have many friends who also ride and they just use 20-50 weight oil all year. even though I showed them what the Harley manual says. I remember back in the day when all we used was 50 or 70 weight oil. It's your choice, but I prefer to follow the official Harley manual. The engineers who design the engines and the R&D people who ride the hell out of those bikes really ought to know what is best for your engine.

Straight 50 doesn't have any higher viscosity than 20W-50, or offer any more protection. They perform the same at operating temp.
