Default Smoking
Hello all, new member here with a huge problem. I have a 2016 street glide special and I installed a set of headers and V&H fuel pak. Also did a 5,000 mile service and when riding once it comes to full temp the left pipe has huge amounts of smoke coming out of it. I returned the setup back to stock and put the stock exhaust back on with only having aftermarket slip ons. What could be the problem?

That's new exhaust residue that you are burning off.

I was thinking that to but I changed it back to the stock manifold so there shouldn't be any new residue on it. Plus the fuel pak is kicking out a rear cylinder running rich code

Is the smoke black? Is your O2 sensor plugged in? Was it possibly damaged when you made the exhaust switch?

Smoke is lighter like whiteish, O2 has lots of soot and the rear plug was blackish. Cleaned the plug and O2 and switched the plugs out. Was thinking I had too much oil in it but I drained more then enough oil out and still getting a too rich code and smoke

Try taking off the fuelpak

I reset it back to stock exhaust and stock on the fuel pak. I didn't unplug it so I could read the trouble codes and watch the data screen

did you put anti-seize on the O2 sensor threads, and get some on anything else, including the sensor head?

I did use anti seize but very very little and the amour of smoke is unreal. Plus I've rode it about 50 miles and all that should have burnt off. All the smoke was coming out the left pipe and the tip is covered inside with soot

Did it still smoke after returning it to stock?
