How to install cam 4* advanced?
I already have the cam installed and all I want to do is move the curve to the left for more torque down low. Was just hoping that it is just something done thru the gear change only. I will be getting it re dyno'd again as well.
Which cam do you actually have installed on what bike? You need to give us allmthecdata to help you. Your set up may not benefit at all from a cam timing change. Most of the time, the tman, doesnt need it and the 585 is a mid-high cam, so yourcset up may notmhave what it takes to benefit from the idea. Give us the rest of the info.

you already shot yourself in the foot with the exhaust.
yep you can shift the curve downward by about 500 rpm, BUT, will it be advantageous???
if you ride the lower rpm range, your machine will suffer. where it helps is in the mid rpm range where the engine starts to make power.
the leanest way is to change gearing. to effect the whole tranny, look at the engine sprocket.
you did not mention specifics on the machine but i would look at the johnson engineering twist gear to see if it will fit.
i run the sport gear and it is a real hoot. BTW: i run 4* adv because the engine was built for high speed.
build your engine for its intended purpose as a system, band-aid approach usually produces less stellar results.
