Default Deuce low speed/throttle off problems

Hi. New to this forum, and having a problem.

Deuce, 1550 with ported tops and S&S-easystart. CV-carburetor with conversion kit (richer fuel). 2001 mod. Low mileage.

Norway.

Hi. I am having a (maybe) kind of problem, or perhaps it's normal behavior for all I know.

The bike runs very well at load. Loves high speed and hits easily 160 km/h.

But it HATES low speed. It hates when I release the throttle to use the engine breaks. In lack of the correct word; it's feels very rough and runds very hard and unsmooth. Not hunting, or stalling, bot more like misfire and lags backward and forwards (I don't know the describing word).

Had a job done in the carburetor to enrichen the fuel. And the HD mechanics who did the job said it runs very good. Better than average.

But I can't rest my head. I feel it is TOO rough. And I mean it misfire when light load and low throttle. I thought that even a Harley should run well not only when hard throttle is given.

But what do I know? I dont't.

Is this normal bahaviour? Ny mechanics says so. And the is well known for being a excellent HD mechanics.

What to do? Or not to do?

Replace all the aftermarket parts (conversion kit) in the CV with OEM parts and re-tune the carb. I have learned that the CV carb is easier to tune and will deliver more power with OEM parts; have proven it on the dyno.

Well, I think it's not the carb. The bike was behaving exactly the same when he was OEM. The only diff now is that the bike has more Power.

The primary Chain is checked. Belt checked. All ok.

I believe myself that this is ignition related. Maybe I should install a adjustable ignition system for powerbikes.

If the motor is a high compression motor, an adjustable ignition would be a good addition; however, the issue sounds like a fuel delivery issue to me. Good luck getting it sorted out.
