Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
I wouldn't buy a kit when you can get machined to match components from the guys here. When I had mine done that way I have next to zero oil consumption and I know they are set up right with the ring gaps set.

Port matching the intake and throttle body.... Why increase the capacity of the heads if it's still choked by the stock parts...
I spoke with Fuel Moto last week and was told this was not so advantageous and that the gain was minimal.
So that being the case, what else would be machined?

For shops that don't do their own machining and pull pre made stuff off the shelf, the response you got is expected.
I have used the fueling 594 great results. BUT w/ the late closing. It is not a bolt in cam and consideration needs to be taken when setting something up for it.
I have tuned the 574 several times but nothing I built. Unfortunately I haven't had that cam in anything that was a good combination. Meaning that it might of had headwork done by good porter or something but then it would have something like VH 2-2 big radius's or some other crap. So, it has never impressed me but I honestly haven't seen it in anything that would give it a fair shake. Take this for what it is worth.
