Hi all,
I got my first bike about a year ago, 06 Sportster 883L. I love it, my wife got it as a retirement from the Army gift.
That being said, I've done an oil change, oil filter and air filter. Lately the thing sounds like a sewing machine. I've looked at some other threads, but I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right place. I really would like to fix this myself as I can't afford to take it to a dealer for diagnostics or repair. Any help is appreciated.
Does it make the sound all the way through the rpm range? At idle or just under load? Mine has always had a really annoying ticking, and from what I've read these motors are prone to making all kinds of bat-**** crazy sounds. It'd be nice if you could get a sound clip posted of what you're hearing.

At idle it sounds fine, as I'm accelerating and shifting it stops, but then does it as I'm cruising at speed.
