I've been asking lots of questions lately but I'm new and trying to learn.
I have noticed my dyna make a rattle sound that starts at 2800 rpm and goes away at 3000 rpm. I do not think it is pinging or detonation but I am a rookie at all this. The sound is almost like the rocker ticking sound but at a much faster rate and maybe a little deeper tone. Is this no big deal? I want to make a trip this weekend on the bike but I don't want to harm anything.
Most likely injector ticking, or rocker arm rattle. Check out RockOuts on the forum for a cure for the rocker arm rattle. Harley's are not mechanically quite, go ride.
Have a look around my website.... might be just what you need

take it in to a pro and have it diagnosed, if you aren't sure that you can tell if its detonation,,,,if it is detonating, the repairs can be very costly. it's better to know for sure what it is, so that you can make the best choices in how you deal with it.
