thanks Scott,

would using adjustable pushrods at .140 help at all?

im thinking of going a woods Tw-777, s&s premium lifters and adjustable pushrods once this is all sorted.

im not very mechanically minded, but the pushrods can be adjusted to relieve some of the seat pressure if adjusted appropriately?

Also, if the lifter has failed. (And I don't know the extent of the failure)

what is the likelyhood of further damage done to the engine?

From my understanding the cam lobes are hardened steel, now if they are damaged there is debris floating around my engine. Obviously not good.

What do I push for with the dealership? Photos? A flush of the oil system? A top to bottom rebuild?

Sorry for the open ended question, but I am thinking worst case scenario here.

Setting push rods at .140" pre load won't make any difference.

I think you are "borrowing trouble" as my sainted grandma used to say. The bike is under warranty so take a deep breath, let the dealer techs do their thing, get the bike back, ride it and see how it goes. Not that I have a lot of confidence in dealer techs but, at this point, your best option. If you are not happy with the results, take the bike back and keep taking it back until they get it right.

yeah you are right.

I agree with a lot of the techs not been much chop, but this one I have absolute faith in, he's done some very impressive work in the past as a private entity and I consider him a buddy. I specifically told the workshop I only wanted him touching my bike. Have had some substandard work come from the same dealership before.

Heard back from him today, all is good, got it just in time. Cam lobes are spotless and no damage to any components except one of the lifters wasn't operating as per design.

Hopefully back on the road by Tuesday

If you're considering doing the Rockouts...then do the lifters too (after-market), it's literally two extra steps!

Got the bike back, quiet as a mouse.

Leak Down test: 2%F 2%R (max 15%)
Compression test 220F/220R (200-220psi)
Flywheel runout 0.004" (max 0.012") This isn't fantastic. But could be worse...
oil pressure @2000rpm 38psi (35-38psi)

Tech showed me the pics of all related components, all looked fine. Cam lobes spotless. Waiting for an email and I'll post them.

Cost to HD Aus..... $825!! Glad I'm not footing the bill.

Looks good but knowing that those heavy valve springs in the 110 heads caused a lifter to falter at ~3k... I'd look to upgrade to premium lifters as soon as feasible.

Regarding a TW777 cam upgrade...their sweet-spot is about 10.5:1 compression and factory 110's are significantly lower than that, so I'd reconsider that cam.

absolutely, when the 255 cam gets thrown in the bin I'll go with some S&S lifters.

You are right about the compression, the 110 is only 9.2:1.

I am after a cam that I can run at stock compression for the short term, but will also fair well when/if I go to 117ci.

I know there is no "do it all" cam, but surely there is something that can somewhat meet both requirements?

S&S 110" HIGH COMPRESSION PISTON KIT 920-0114... puts compression at 10.5:1
