I still like Hoban's cranks but if the OP goes with S&S, as you point out, an molestation of that crank will void the warranty and I don't think the shop wants to foot the bill to replace an S&S crank.

I paid $1,200 to my door for my S&S crank.
When I saw how it looked compared to the one that came with my bike I was glad I bought a new one instead of trying to have the stock one fixed..

Default Bulletproof 117 in now 124

Maybe I have to start a new “Bulletproff 124” thread... I can’t edit the title on this one.

Just keep this one rolling, I prefer to see the whole conversation in one place compared to piecing a bunch of threads together to get the whole picture

The first 29 posts were basically pointing out to the OP that building a 117" motor was folly when for a marginal cost increase, a 124" motor was doable. Since it appears that the OP has decided to go the 124" route, starting a new thread dedicated to the new build configuration and the results would be appropriate.

Well I guess I can always link this thread to a new one under a Bulletproof 124 Thread...
So this is where I was at with the 110 Tire Shredder kit and stock bottom end. Good thing I noticed an unusual amount of vibration after 3500rpm and got it in for service. The oil pump could have let go.
In my personal experience would recommend having your crank done on anything after a Stage 1.
I road this crank hard with of course burnouts, highway roll ons and an occasional track event.... 2700mi

Or, just avoid the burnouts; these motors weren't built for that purpose.

On new build... 2 Years
HD, yes but I don’t think MoCo parts are going to last with my riding style.
