You already have the rocker boxes off. Pull the heads and send out to Scott, Kirby, or any of the reputable builders here. And while you're at it, pull the cylinders and send them too to get bored to 107, then you can match 10.5-10.7:1 compression for the 585s and have a new monster.
Thank you guys! I didnt want to get too crazy with the bike of course, I removed exhaust and cam cover last night I never saw these last 2 posts... so I wont even bother with installing the 585... anyone else have Input on the best bang for my buck with a good cam with stock heads? Im in a pickle and if anyone has any recommendation or should I just leave stock cam with stage 1 ?
A lot of people rant and rave about the Andrews 48, and Cycle Rama 570-2. Super flat torque curve. Brand new andrews cams can be had for very reasonable prices. I'd say that's your best bang for buck.
Okay so Im thinking I should just keep the free ss 585 easy start and I already have quickee adjustable pushrods... maybe just buy a 107 kit and go with this cam! What are peoples thoughts on a good 107 kit for brands ??

Make a decision and stick with it.. As suggested send your jugs out to Scott or Kirby for $600 and do the bore. Another $600 for a decent Street head and your way up the scale.. No brainer....
Get some CP Carillo pistons and do what hotrod said ^^^. If you use your existing jugs, your piston to wall clearance will be set up based on the measured diameter of the piston. Not just parts grabbed off a shelf and put in a box. If you've got the cash, get the heads done too, big gains to be had from good porting.
