Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
So a while back I was out for a rideall of a suden I hear a chattering / ticking sound that is consitent with engine speed. Take it to the mech and he imstalls s&s rods and lifters. The tick is still there he double checks his work checks compression bleed down everythimg is solid. You dont hear it at all until bike is warmed up and then it is not at Idle only above 2k and goes with engine speed. Checked compensator nut it seems tight. Also the timing chain guides were brand new when I baught it ( i am suspecting they were thrown on to sell the bike) . it sounds like front cylander exhaust side any Ideas. 05 cvo fatboy 103
