I have a 2005 Road King Classic that has a ticking noise coming from the front area of engine .I only hear it when going down the road not at idle. Is this normal I think my 97 Heritage made this noise too but I cant remember, Could it be the primary chain needs adj, or possible valve adjment, the bike has 2200 miles on it.I am going to see if exhaust bolts are tight maybe a small exhaust leak..
Thanks for any info.
Retorque the exhaust studs at the front and rear to 110 inch pounds - not all at once. Probably not the valves as they are non-adjustable unless the presvious owner did some engine work and replaced them with adj pushrods. Other than that, may just be normal overhead valve racket.
I get that same sound on mine... Riding yesterday i was thinkin it sounded like when you were a kid and would stick a playin card in the spokes of your bike... I too can't hear it at idle or at say 50mph or above.. but just puttin around it is very noticeable...
What the heck is it??? Makes me nuts![:@]
I, too, have noticed this. It is irritating, but doesn't affect anything, as far as I can tell. Fish, what ever happened with the 360 brake issue you had/have? Did you just throw on a single rotor and caliper, for now?
