After a nice ride on the 2002 Road King Classic, I turn it off. If I turn it back on say 10 minutes later , it’s running on 1 cylinder . I start to take off .. I continue to give it some throttle while it’s still running on one cylinder, after a minute or so driving down the street , the 2nd cylinder begins to surprisingly kick in , then it runs fine ... any ideas ... driving me nuts ... I read about the one cylinder shut off when it’s hot , but should it affect your takeoff and kick in when it wants to ????? Fuel injected btw
HD Dealership checked it out ... said it had a stage one download but could find nothing wrong said it fine ... once in a while it seems the check engine light will kick on for maybe 5 -10 seconds then goes off but won’t throw a code . Had intake leak fixed at another good reputable shop but problem remains .. wasn’t the issue , problem is still there . Replaced the spark plugs, spark plug cables , ignition coil pack , cooling sensor and problem still happens when it’s hot ..

Reason: Correction
Sorry for the late response ... up until now , I’ve never checked the temp. I got one of those infrared thermometer laser guns and checked the temp on each head .. the front head showed 240 degrees and the rear showed at about 260 degrees ... I started after about 5 minutes and it ran on one cylinder. Pulled the front spark plug cable and didn’t do anything. I reconnected and pulled the rear spark plug cable off and the bike shut off. So it’s only running on the rear cylinder .. I’m beginning to think it’s possible the fuel injector is not opening up ... 🤔
