Default 2002 FXDWG3 S&S Super E

Hello, I recently bought a S&S super E carb Kit. I have vance and hanes single shots and 10mm screaming eagle spark plug wires. My question here is what jets should I apply with this setup I would rather not play a game of taking apart the carb 5 times to find the perfect jets. Thank You.

It's more fun to accept the fact that you'll be taking the carb apart a bunch, just sayin'. Working on bikes is fun.

Sorry, can't help with the Super E though, I'm a CV man myself.

Start with a 29.5 int and a 70 main. Just a starting point. May have to go lower. You’ll have to tune it to your setup and location.

i'm with jbarr1, start with a 29.5 intermediate jet, you most likely wont have to change that one again, and a 70-72 main jet and go ride it. read the S&S jetting instructions that came with the carb for the finer details on setting up the main jet, but to change the main jet, you just need to remove the plug in the bottom of the float bowl. pretty easy with some practice and after reading the instruction sheet.

With a T/C good chance you'll end up with a .028 pilot, and a 68 main, exhaust dependant.
The best way to KNOW you are correct/spot on, would be to dyno tune it.
Also, an S&S carb responds greatly to the introduction of a Thunderjet, creating a third fuel circuit, and an easily accessible air bleed.
Air idle mixture screw will land at approx. 1 1/2 turns out, if the pilot is correct, and set your accelerator pump at 3 complete turns out.
These are base line starting points

Come on Scott!!! Don't get him going on a T-Jet. He doesn't even want to spend the time to tune it properly wIth just 2 jets.. If you really want to do it right do like Scott said or get an AFR meter...

I do have it tuned right now. Not Accessible to a dyno since I live in Wisconsin. No I didn’t tune the carb when it was 10 degrees out. Waited till it was 40-50 degrees cant ride it to see how it responds in gear. Hence why I was wondering what the correct/best setup would be

Just playing with you.. a thunder jet is a very nice third jet that helps you to tune the mid-range and top end more precisely. I was pretty serious about an AFR meter though.. the Wego III is a very nice too. It stores the necessary info so you can download it to your laptop and see exactly what your motor is doing.. only the software they offer is only good for Microsoft based computers. No Mac's
