I used Smith Brothers (Fuel Moto are rebranded SB pushrods) because I've used them on automotive builds and the quality is as good as anyone else's pushrods. They can be a bit of a pain to adjust, but you generally only need to do it once if you do it right.
If you're not removing the rocker covers do yourself a favor an go with either screaming eagle or S&S quickies. I used SE before an it went fine but 2 got bent after a mistake while adjusting so to save a few bucks I went with the standard S&S since I was removing the lifter covers to replace the lifters.....big pain in the ***! The intake push rods wouldn't clear the lip on the lifter area. I used rivera in my evo an no problem there. I was going to go with fuel moto's but their directions made them sound less friendly to install.
go with S&S quickies, best & easiest to use on the market.smith bros makes very nice p/rods but I have no idea why FM had them make them the way the did
thanks for the info everyone, I think I will go with the S&S. I like the price and they look to be made well. I used Smith brothers in a race car engine once. never considered them for the bike.
For those interested we recently changed up the FM pushrods to a completely different design that users should find more user friendly, the Fuel Moto EZ Quick Install pushrods are easy to install and adjust, and they work with stock pushrod tubes. The fit all Milwaukee-8 and Twin Cam engines.
for those who have used screaming eagle, fuel moto or S&S adjustable pushrods which do you prefer and why? 16 street glide stock 103
I used the S&S pushrods on my 2001 Road Glide. They worked well and were easy enough to install, however when it comes time to do my new bike I will use the S&S quickee pushrods because you don't have to remove the tappet blocks.
S&S Quickees here every time, because they work. From stock replacements to 120+ HP big engine builds we have used them without issue for over 10 years now...
