recently went from a 96ci stock to 103ci Stage IV Race Kit big bore kit over last winter.
I've put 8000kms on the bike since April on the new motor, no issues up till now. Pulls like a beast. 33000kms on the bike total.
Recently I got this new noise, its like a rattle, or chatter, might even describe it as a tap tap tap, coming from the front cylinder. Comes in during idle, for maybe a couple seconds, then goes away. And it will do that off and on every couple minutes. Once I take off, and cruising around town between 50-60kms, it will still come in off and on.
On the highway, don't notice it as much unless I let off the throttle or I downshift.
Any help would be great. Not keen on taking the whole thing apart, but if it's something simple, I could manage it between service manual and youtube. Anything to aviod going to the dealer. The dealer near me won't work on bike's that were done somewhere else (and their crooks besides), and the place I took it to is 6hrs away.
I know it's not normal, I know my bike and all idiots glory of annoying sounds, this is completely new, like a loose rocker or lifter.
As noted above, have a look around my website... thousands cured all over the world

so, turned out I need to do oil changes sooner than 6000kms. Talked to the dealer that built the motor, said do an oil change, and use amsoil and not the harley crap as it has more additives. Did the oil change, all the noises went away. Well good to know. Builder said the 103 stage kit makes more noise than any other kit, but it's also the most reliable. But being a built motor, oil changes need to be done a little more frequent, at least at 5000kms.
