at my 1000 mile check up I had a stage 3 kit put in at Chester's Harley in sunrise fl. ever since it was installed I cant stand the valve noise I brought it back 3 or 4 time companying about the noise and they said it normal when you put in the stage 3 kit it is the valve shutting to the head that's making the noise. To me it sounds like wrong push rods or bad lifters, I spent 2700 on a stage 2 stereo and about 1300 on my Rinehart exhaust system and that's all I hear is the valves please tell me if that's normal or should I take it to another dealer thanks
You sure it is not the rocker shafts that are known to rotate and make noise? This is a common issue with twin cams and a set of Rockouts or alike will help quiet things down. Also, if the shop used adjustable pushrods do you know what they preloaded the lifters to?
Have a look around my website, you might find it interesting
