I have an S&S 124" motor that's closing in on 25,000 miles. The manual says to change the lifters around now.
It has the premium lifters with limiters,I see S&S is making one set of lifters now, not like before where they made premiums with limiters, premiums without limiters and then a standard set.
Does anyone have any insight as to the reason for the change. Thanks
The company that was making the lifters stopped some of the various models, so SnS can no longer offer them. I've heard they are getting some of the various lifters back now, so make sure and check what they may or may not carry any longer.
The state of Michigan shut everything down because of Covid 19. I'm a distributor for Hylift Johnson & last I spoke with them they were hoping to be able to start back up this month. Even if they do there's a backlog of orders so it will probably be a while.
25K isn't carved in stone. It's just a safety precaution.
If you buy lifters from someplace else beware because there are a LOT of chinese lifters in circulation. Buy from a trusted source.
