A friend of mine has a 2001 Road Glide, and if the outside temp is over aout 95 the bike wont hardly run. However it runs fine when its cooler. I dont know if its carb or injected. Anyideas on what to check?
Need more information; carbed or injected is important. Is this issue new? Is the bike stock? Are there any modifications? How many miles? Has he checked for codes? As Sleepy Joe would say "Come on man".

Fuel injected Stage II 95CI, 60k miles, and yes its a new issue. forgot to ask if he checked cods I will ask him tonight.
being a 2001, its gonna be the dreaded Magneti Marelli fuel injection. Went out of use in 2002. Likely a sensor is taking a ****, which one, I couldnt say for sure, but I would be checking the temp sensor in the front head, and any others associated with ambient or engine temp. If there are any codes, that may dictate different, but that is where my seat of the pants diagnosis would start.

I dunno - I think they are easy to work on. Just have to understand EFI and the system.

I tend to agree, treat it like an electronic carburetor, and the basics are the same. Most shops however will act like the antichrist just wheeled in the door if you show up with the early EFI system. Hardest part of workin on them is finding parts when one takes a ****. Most items are made of unobtanium now that the system has been superceded for nigh on 20 years. Thankfully mine is still working like a champ.

I still have complete throttle bodies and like new and new ECMs. I even have 3 of the Screamin Eagle 43mm throttle bodies.
