Default Evo Engine Rebuild

Me and my dad are going to be rebuilding a 91 flht with the evo 80. He says the crank bearings are shot and it probably needs a new crank as well.
Just wondering how to go about diagnosis on that and choosing parts and whatnot

1. Get a Factory Service Manual
2. Call Darkhorse Crankworks

How did you determine that the bearings are bad?

Evo flywheel assemblies aren`t throw away items, they are completely rebuildable.

You don`t need Darkhorse for an Evo flywheel assembly.

No, but they are damn good at rebuilding cranks.

Bike apparently has 400k on it its been making some bottom end noise for awhile according to my father who was the last rider on it. He says bearings are definitely shot and crank is hopefully rebuildable as of today. We haven't torn into the engine yet due to not enough time in our work schedules. I'll make plans with him to get into it and check it out if we have to ourselves. Also plan on contacting a few shops Tuesday when everything's opened back up on crank and bottom end rebuilding costs
