I have an 05' dyna low rider that starts then dies about 2 seconds later. I don't have to turn ignition off then back on to restart it. I just hit the start button again and it fires right back up then dies about 2 seconds later. I put a fully charged battery on it this morning, but it's still doing the same thing. Starts runs for 2 seconds then dies. Any ideas on the cause of this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Yes I've done some work since I've bought it. I installed some Lucky Daves " Lucky 13 " bars, Lucky Dave's step up seat, and Basani 2 to 1 exhaust. I also did some work to my rear lighting wiring harness. I disconnect the plug to that harness earlier in case there was a short. But I had the same result. I also added some wire to my handle bar controls after I installed the new bars. I'm fixing to check the wiring there next for a short.
No I didn't add a tuner , because I didn't change my air cleaner. But I'm looking to upgrade my air cleaner and add a tuner in the near future. If you've got any suggestions on them . I'd appreciate it.
Contact fuel Moto and see if they have any suggestions as to what air cleaner would work best with your pipes , I don't think it really matters myself , but this would be a good time to decide on whether you want to do the external breather kit as well .
As far as tuners , I would go with a Power Vision , can't beat it and their customer service is outstanding .
Well I'm back on the road, minus a speedometer. Had water in my speedometer housing from a crack in the glass. I just unplugged the speedometer. And it fired up and stayed running. Thanks for the help and info on the tuner and air cleaner.
