Default This ever happen to you?

I was adjusting my pushrods and was on my last one. Went the correct amount of turns to get to .140 and was tightening the jam nut and it cracked! Now I need to know where do I get a jam nut for screaming eagle adjustable push rods with 24tpi? Can't believe this happened.

I've heard of this but never had it happen, if it did happen too me I'd take the push rod out and pick up a replacement lock nut at a local hardware store.

Didn't know if just using a nut from hardware store would be sufficient or is this a special made nut?

The lock nut on my adjustables look like a normal nut. Take the push rod with you and use it to match up a replacement.

Yes I had a buddy snap one off last summer, first time seeing that too. But we got a nut at the hardware store to match. His hasn't moved since, you'll be fine.

Ok thank you all for the info! After work today I'll stop at hardware store and pick up a nut so I can get bike on the road!

I had a set of the SE Premium Tapered Adjustable Pushrods, part #18404-08 and had the same problems with the jam nut. I replaced the with the same size jam nut (3/8-24 with 5/16 hex size) from Smith Brothers Pushrods; https://www.pushrods.net/. There were a few old threats on this forum about the SE pushrod jam nut cracking.
