My 02 deuce fxstdi EFI has a vibration when I throttle up between shifts and at higher speeds, 60+ and higher. It smooths out when I let off the throttle, it also does it in neutral at higher rpms. I don't have a tac so I don't know what the rpms are. I haven't had the bike long,, since April this year so the only history I know of the bike is it has a upgraded a/c, v/h big radius, and gear drive cams. I don't even know what kind of cams were put in, as a independent shop dropped the cam cover and he confirmed it was gear drive and the only thing that was on the cams was the numbers,..., S501golf, I have never heard of such a sequence of numbers and letters on cams before. Has anybody else had this problem with vibration before? It's not the tires or bent rims I have brand new rubber on it. 200 mi. ago, all mounts are torqued to spec's. It just seems to vibrate when I throttle up semi hard, ( but not too ) I'm at a loss here and the only thing I was thinking it could be would be counter balancers, or slipped crank, but it being gear drive, is that still possible? It had to be within spec's to do that upgrade. Could it have went awry after the upgrade? I appreciate all your help on this one, I'm kinda worried about riding it much until I find the problem. TIA.
He said April of this year.
A lot could have happened before then...throttling down hard was known to be bad for the flywheels. They woulsd "scissor".
A lot of guys would tack weld them to the crankpin after balancing.
I'm surprised my wife's dyna hasn't shaken the glass out of the mirrors while at idle. Always been that way.
Unlike yours though, it smoothes right out above idle.
