Default Spring chain tensioner

Hello.
Are these spring chain tensioners for TwinCam 88 better than the current original H-D? Is the plastic shoes CYCO?
https://americanclassicmotors.com/pr...arley-twin-cam
Thanks.

I have seen the plastic sold individually. I was changing the whole pieces every 25 -30k, but could have gone longer. Made 100,000 k and sold the bike.

Those are Twin Power replacements but not sure if they are CYCO shoes re-branded. CYCO does sell to others and allow re-branding but not sure if the sell to Twin Power. I would not buy unless those replacments can be confirmed as CYCOs.

These have been confirmed as CYCOs.

From https://twincamtensioner.com/product...tensioner-kit/ are out of stock. I'm looking for whole chain tensioners, not just shoes. Are the new original H-D tensioners (material shoe - delrin) better than before? I can use them without fear?

IIRC, Delrin is the same material as the early OEM tensioners. Have you called CYCO? In the past they did not sell retail, only to shops but give them a call. They may be able to sell direct to you or refer you a source. Maybe the can confirm if the Twin Power shoes are CYCOs. I have to believe there is a source; just have to keep looking. Worst case, you mihgt have to buy the shoes and the install tool and DIY them; videos show how.

http://Cycogasket.com This is Cyco's website. I believe they have a minimum order amount, but try emailing them or give them a call. Thr stuff you are interested in is listed under "new parts" in the menu.

Friends.
Is it also advisable to replace the stock oil pump with a better one, for example Feuling OE+?
https://www.feulingparts.com/sku/7010

Thanks.

Not necessary. The OEM cam plate and oil pump are quite adequate.

So, I have H-D FXST (Softail Standard) year 2003, TwinCam 88, only with 12 000 miles.
Which parts I will replace with new ones:
- inner cam bearings
- spring chain tensioners

Which parts I will leave original:
- cam plate
- chains
- cams
- oil pump
- pushrod (disassemble via rocker box)

It is advisable to replace these parts with new ones as well?
- outer cam bearings
- lifters (for example S&S)

Do you agree with everything?

Which parts I will replace with new ones:
- inner cam bearings OEM probably OK if not replacing cams but replacment is cheap and an upgrade. Probaby a gazillion HDs running OEM with no issues.
- spring chain tensioners Yes, CYCO.

Which parts I will leave original:
- cam plate Yes
- chains Yes
- cams up to you but it would be a good time to add a set of "bolt in" cams, like Andrews 26 or S&S 509 or even the SE204
- oil pump Yes
- pushrod (disassemble via rocker box) Yes

It is advisable to replace these parts with new ones as well?
- outer cam bearings yes if replacing cams
- lifters (for example S&S) at 12K miles, "B" lifter should be OK but if you want to change; Johnson Hy-Lif from WFO Larry (Larry's Machine)

Do you agree with everything?
See replies above. Is the bike carbed or EFI?
