hello!
i was cleaning the threads for the cylinder studs with a q-tip, and the cotton from to q-tip fell of in the threads. tried to get it up but pushed it down instead. i think the hole leads to inside the crankcase. Does anyone have any idea of how i can get it up? it was the rear left hole for the front cylinder stud.
it is a 1998 evo
Maybe you got lucky and it fell onto the flywheel and is stuck on the flywheel. Any way to get a flashlight and maybe a small dental type mirror and start looking around. I would not rotate the crank without looking around in there first.
Does i have to get it out? Or will the engine "eat" it up?
i cant get it out
If all it is is a small piece of cotton, just make sure it got through the small passage. Shove it the rest of the way through the passage to a larger area. Oil flow, gears and movement will eventually move it to the oil filter, and you`ll be okay.......... If you`re somehow mistaken about it dropping into a small hole, and it simply dropped onto the piston, it will just burn up along with the fuel mixture when the engine fires up.

im just scared that it will get stuck in a bearing or oil passages or something. Only idea i have now it to remove the engine from the fram and fill it with oil and hold it upside down so that mf comes out. At the same time it feels like in over thinking this..
