I think what you’re seeing is probably a reflection.. some of these pictures are up really close and the light plays tricks on the camera… they actually look worse in these pictures

they have kits from s&s and I believe HD may have one also .. these are s&s cylinders and pistons..

Yeah, unless you have torque plates, micrometers and bore gauges (not telescoping) you would be better off taking them to a machine shop that specializes in this type of work.

Looks like some of scratches mae be from assembly, like from the ring compressor. And then some from foreign objects on the cylinder sutface, although without a good picture of the cylinders it's hard to say.

it’s definitely s&s cylinders and pistons.. it’s stamped in the casting of the cylinders and the pistons were bought together with them from s&s .. I’m just trying to get this thing back together without major problems.. I’ve built many race car engines and hundreds of two stroke dirt bikes before. So I have the wrenching skills . It’s just the particulars of Harley engines .. the important points..
