Default Exhaust stud replacement

I have my 2008 twin cam apart for new cylinders and pistons. In the past I may have over torqued the exhaust nuts once or twice…..
#1,,, I posted this over in the Exhaust forum, but I thought I would post it here for a faster response also.

#2,,,, what do you all think is the easiest way to remove a stud without breaking it?
#3,,,,, I have found several different types of replacement studs and nuts other than stock to replace with. The stock ones have lasted this long, however, in anyone’s opinion, are there better studs and nuts out there to use other than stock. Thanks….

Easiest way to get it out is to have the head on the work bench, apply lots of heat and get the stud turning while heating. I will usually try to set up a double nut on the stud, and use a 6 point socket while applying the hear,,,,most likely need to use oxy/acetylene and be very carefull.
after that, stock or S&S exhaust studs and Wurth copper anti sieze.

your concept is well understood, thank you so much. My skill level with an acetylene torch, marginal at best. The top end is off, I am taking the heads in for an inspection, and I will see if the speed shop will do it for me. That way I got no worries. Thanks for the response, much appreciated, enjoy the forum
