Afternoon
Have a 95 road king did a compression test cold crank got 120 each cyl. warm test got 130 frt and 127 rear. by cranking engine over till gauge stopped, throttle wide open. what are your thoughts on these readings.
No oil burning just trying to see how good the engine is as I have no records of what if anything has been done to bike and milage on speedo is incorrect
Is 95 the model year or the displacement? Carbed or injected? Fully charged battery? Throttle wide open? If CV carbed, carb should be removed from the intake manifold or butterfly manually held open. Accurate guage? Numbers are low.

Dan points out slide manually held up which is what I should have said insteaf of "butterfly manually held open"; my bad, I know better having run compression tests on a few CV carbed motors. I also remove the carb from the rubber boot to remove all restrictions, then hold the slide up for the test. Apologies for the mis-information.
If you're not the original owner and are lacking history, it's possible the cam was changed. A cam targeting higher power will have a later closing intake valve and give a lower cold cranking compression test. Is it a high mileage motor? Probably a leakdown test would give you a lot more information. Having said all that if it was mine with those numbers I would ride the wheels off it. Best of luck with your bike!
