2016 Fat Boy S engine knocking suddenly
We out for a ride and heard this quiet knocking sound at first. It's gradually grew louder until it was much loader than the exhaust by the time i was able to make it back home. Sounds like it's coming from the front piston and it's pretty rhythmic with the engine.
I have a 2016 Fat boy S with about 38k miles on it and the sound just started. Any ideas?

If its in time with the front piston then Id pull the plug, put cylinder BDC and borescope the cylinder. If theres an oiling problem for just a short time the heat and out of round damage can be irreversible and a top end rebuild needed

Pull your oil filter and cut it open, if it's got metal in it and it's knocking the big end has probably let go! i know a fellow that had a softail slim S, same engine as yours, HD replaced his engine twice under warranty before he made them take it back! I have a slim s as well, from new, no problem. I hope that's not it.
