Default CCP 245 psi !

I just did a 128 FM kit 11:1 Comp with a 520 lift cam and stock heads. Did a compression test and getting 245 psi on rear cylinder and 235 front. FM said should be at 220 with my setup . Is my compression too high? Also getting pool of oil in TB and I have the Trask vented trans cover so not sure what’s going on. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Greater than expected CCP is common for M8 builds. I've seen stock engines pump 245+ with a bolt in cam. Externally vent the crankcase breathers to a catch can, instead of the intake tract, to remove that oil mist.

Not entirely sure what you mean by crankcase breathers. I did install the Trask CheckM8 vented transmission top to help with this but doesn’t seem to be effective.

The Trask unit helps vent crankcase pressure to atmosphere, but the oil comes from the crankcase breathers in the heads- see the two holes i circled in the backing plate?

That's the source of the manifold oil. You can modify the backing plate, or use a different AC setup, that routes that air/oil mist to a catch can. Running the oil level about 1/2QT low can help with this also.

Run it, then check it again, the lifters may not be pumped up, or excess oil in the cylinders.

what if it’s excess oil in cylinders? Is it a ring issue? If so may have to tear down the top end again

No, I meant oil from assembly

ok. Because I don’t think it’s from breather bolts my air filter is completely dry and oil free. This oil is pooling right behind TB plate and seems to settle after I turn the bike off after riding.

I was under the impression that you tested it before first start, and never ran it yet.
