I'm finding this discussion quite interesting. I'm in the process of installing a Jagg 6 row cooler (no fan). I don't do much driving in stop and go traffic, but I believe every bit helps. In the spirit of keeping things cool, has anyone/would anyone care to comment on the efficacy of the DK tank lifters as another option? TIA
Can only say I have had it in my thought. Perhaps someone here can chime in.
My 14 SGS is tore down at the moment for an entire top end rebuild with a slight bump in HP/TQ. Luckily, after 135,000 miles, the only really big issue with the engine were the rings/cylinder walls letting oil past. (3+ Qt's every 5,000 miles)The machinist that's doing my work said that it appears that they had gotten too hot at some point in the last 5 years that I've owned it. I can think of a few right off the top of my head. That being said, I decided to get the Jagg fan assisted 10 row cooler and start out at least a little bit ahead of the game with this fresh build . We'll see this summer on our annual cross country ride. I do know if I get stuck in super heavy traffic again, I'll be riding down the shoulder to keep this thing cool. Rather have a discussion with a LEO than smoke my motor. Unless of course I'm here in Commiefornication where I split lanes. Anyhow, I'll report back this summer with my findings.........

In my opinion, (no scientific measurement to prove one way or another) the tank lifts won’t help much. The issue is predominantly when the air cooled motor isn’t moving. The temperatures are likely fine at 65 mph.. it’s that first stop light, traffic jamb or backed up line going to or from an event.. that’s when oil temperature reflect high heat levels. A tank lift likely will promote air flow when moving… but at idle they will likely not do much. My 127 cruises at about 180 to 210 on the very hottest Florida days. But 30 seconds into a traffic light it can climb to 250…
That said I think the fan assisted oil cooler and the fans facing the engines are going to do the most when you need it.

I'm sure the 10-row unit would "werk" better, and even more so w/fans, but as I said, I don't spend much time at all in stop and go traffic. I really don't do parades, not many in rural NH. My concern is keeping a steady temp. IMHO, the bigger unit looks awkward, so call me a poser.... Aesthetics matter -to me- , so there you go. Thanks for your input, however! This forum is awesome!

I have one along with Jason's fans and used together will knock your temps down 40 + degrees.
Used to run an oil bud oil cooler too that was a gigantic oil cooler that run about the length of the bottom of the bike.
Worked well but always couldn't tell if it was leaking after changing the oil or it was residual from changing the oil so got tired of messing with it so took it off, but still run the Wards fans and the HD rear cylinder fan.
