I have a 2006 SG 88. I had haudraulic cam tensioner installed to get rid of the plastic and at the same time put in SE204 cams, cam plate, etc. What would be the next step to upgrade the performance?
Holedigger
More displacement but don't stop at 95", same $$ gets 98". Be careful of compression with the 204s; they won't like much more that about 9.6-9.8 static. If funds are available, the early heads need improvement. Plenty of places to have them worked BigBoyz, Hillside Cycles, WFO Larry, AKA Larry's Motorcycle and Machine and HD Street Performance are a few that come to mind. A dyno tune will be necessary with any of the above modifications.
Bike has 06 heads. I would just run them stock with those SE204 cams and a 95" kit. Add some nice slip on mufflers and SE air cleaner plus dyno tune. I bet it would run sweet and happy. I don't like to advise, send someone new to harleys down the rabbit hole unless they really want to jump. Then it's go big or go home

Agree. Missed the '06 part but I would still go to 98".
