Default 110 Build

Hey guys just looking for some info on a build I’m working on doing. Right now I run a 2011 streetglide with the 103 but have acquired a wrecked road glide CVO with a 110 in it. The plan is to pull the motor and build it up. Trying to figured out best route to go with it, seeing what the biggest motor I can build without getting into the bottom end, as well as option if I did get in the bottom end. Just seeing what other have done and how they liked it. Thanks in advance for all the info.

Curious, how are they getting 110? Stroking or bore cases and bigger jugs?

Come on man; really? 4.00"x4.375", 4.060"x4.375" will get the OP to 113". Next step without touching the botttom end would be 4.125"x4.375" for 117" but at that point the OP would be lookng at machine work on the cases so that opens up opportunites for a variety of combinations.

I was asking a question. I do not know answer.
I was thinking 107 is on the bigger side of bored 96. So how do they get to 110 from factory?

Asked and answered; 4.00"x4.375" in my previous post. Several earlier CVO models were equipped with that TC motor. Now I am thinking you are shining us on.

You can add a 117" top end on your CVO motor. HD has a kit with what you'll need. You of course can also buy all of the items separately if you wish to design your own kit from various aftermarket manufacturers. Truthfully, you can also make that 110 really run, and by boring your cylinders to 4.060" you can have a 113".

You might want to narrow it down with a budget and how much power you’re targeting. Then get ideas on combinations. You can put it well into the 130’s at 110” with a throttle body, cams, a set of pistons, the right pipe and the right head porter. I have one like that and it’s pretty much as enjoyable as my 117. At some point probably before that it’s probably a good idea to do something with the stock crank, and then it’s kinda smart to go 124 with a lot more torque for a modest increase in cost. And plan on up to a grand just for tuning.

So I’d like to run a 124”, and what I’ve read a lot of guys are using the stock 110” crank and bearing. I personally don’t think that is a good idea with as much work that is going on in top end. So looking to see what crank and bearings guys are using on the high compression builds and what other internals guys are using. Also I don’t know what kind of machine work will be needed in the bottom end as well. I’m not afraid to spend money on this project as I’m not in a hurry for it. I have a motor in the bike now that I’m still running but wanting to build a good big bore motor for it.

Send your complete lower end to Darkhorse Motor Company. They'll bore the cases for the 4-1/8" bore cylinders and build a 4-5/8" stroke crank and setup the lower end. You need a longer stroke to get to 124". It is possible to use 4-3/8" stroke and 4-1/4" bore. But that's not a very popular combination.

I've had them setup two Twin Cam motors this way, and have bought two custom built cranks from them.
