I live in the Tucson Arizona area and the summers are hot. This week we will hit a hit of 107 degrees. So I am wondering if relocating the oil filter will help with engine temperatures. I ride a 2017 Road King Special equipped with a ThunderMax oil cooler fan. IYO would a DK Custom relocation kit to the front down tube be money well spent?
I out the DK Custom remote oil filer kit on my left down tube. I did it to stop leaking oil down the front of the engine during oil changes. I believe that the DK website stated that this location will reduce oil temps. Not sure if that's with a standard filter or their permanent oil filter.
But I like the kit I purchased. Even if the oil temps are not effected.
I used the Moore kit to move the filter to the rear under the passenger foot peg. The supply and return lines hold a bit more oil, not much but a few ounces and not saying that is justification for relocating the filter which was purly for the convenience of changing the filter. Adding a Jagg 10 row oil cooler will help recuce oil temps. Doesn't get as hot in south Texas as AZ but it goes get pretty hot with more humidity. Its hard to really say how much the Jagg cooler helped in my situation but I believe, conservatively, it was at least 10* on the hottest of days.

Like goose said, the DK Custom guys state that there is a temp drop.
When I installed mine I did notice a trop in the oil temp on my Oil Temp Gage it was down by about 7-10 Deg below 230*F .
It is a Plus because I installed it to make oil changes easier.
I recommend that you talk with @DK Custom for info about your bike and what you need to cool down your ride.
Kevin assisted me with my bike.

People have been riding through AZ for a 100 years without an oil filter relocation kit. Time to reinvent the wheel now?
A fresh high quality synthetic oil change is your friend.

No, but for some it is time to tinker, certainly won`t hurt anything...
( once upon a time these bikes didn`t have oil filters either )

Check out the video below, and you can see a written report on different mods and how much each of them reduce Engine or Oil Temps at this LINK.

For centuries people used to wipe their asses with leaves. Then suddenly someone invented terlet paper. Your thinking would have us all still wiping our asses with leaves!!!

No. If you already have an oil cooler and fan, you're just fine. I'm still waiting to read of a bike (or bikes) seizing up from riding in high temps. I think we worry about it more than is warranted.
