So I have an 09 street glide. I was getting on it one night a few weeks ago and she just died on me. She wouldn’t start but would crank. Had a buddy suggest a new rectifier so I replaced that nothing. Changed out the battery because everyone was saying to change it same thing. (Needed changed anyway) new plugs too. A friend could see flames behind the butterfly valve so thought maybe that was off. Took off the cover and checked the timing chain and the dots on the sprockets are lined up and looked good to me in there. So changed out the crank shaft position sensor. She will now start but sounds like a lawnmower lol and will not stay running without some throttle. Any thoughts before I go buying more parts would be appreciated.

Do you hear the fuel pump running? I would check fuel pressure and test compression. If you have a tuner, like power vision, that will show you engine parameters that will help too. Start testing parts before you replace them. If you keep replacing random things, you'll spend more money than a professional would have charged you to fix it.

Check for codes before you start throwing parts at the bike.

Just checked codes and got 2 pn codes I need to look up 32836-09 and 68920-07. And yes I would have checked for codes at first but the button stopped working. I just ripped the boot off of it and it works like a charm.
